Thankful for Mocha
Yesterday’s post made me a little sad. Mocha has been frustrating. He scares our friends and neighbors. His 2AM barks disrupt our sleep. Exercise doesn’t seem to be helping. It has definitely been frustrating.
But for all that we are frustrated with him, we are also very thankful for him. I’ve seen other dogs that are a handful and a half. Mocha has lots of great points. So here is a list of why we are thankful for Mocha:
- He sometimes likes to crawl into our laps and take a nap
- He is housebroken
- He is crate-trained
- His barking and growling makes him a good watchdog
- He readily sits for us whenever we open the door, put the leash on, or ask him to sit
- He is a good size – not too big, not too small
- He loves to play fetch (though he still has to work on giving the ball back)
- He is pretty good with most other dogs
- He loves riding in the car
- He likes challenging puzzles
- He likes playing in the water at the dog beach
- He likes to run with us
- He likes to go hiking with us
- He always returns to us if we take him off his leash
- He is entertaining, especially when he’s goofing off
- He sometimes likes to lean up against us
- He sometimes sits like a girl
- He likes to put his chin on our lap
- He is expressive
- He misses us when we leave
- He is trainable
- He knows a few tricks, like Combat Crawl
- He is healthy and fit
- He teaches us patience
- He tolerates Mommy’s smothering ;)
- He is a good, loyal companion
- He is so darn cute!
