Oh no she didn’t.
We left Mocha in a kennel this past weekend. When we picked him up, he had on an additional garment. A bandana. Around his neck. Which Mommy later fashioned into an old lady head scarf.

Poor, poor, poor lil Mocha… Does he look happy? I think not.

Streaks of sun,
form black & white lines.
Is he in jail,
for chewing Mommy’s Kleins?
Or just resting up,
Recharging with the sun.
Being an energetic pup,
It can be tiring having fun!

Mocha sometimes sits at our feet while we work, waiting patiently for us to play with him. Did I say patiently? I meant impatiently.
He’ll paw at us, jump up and down to try to catch our attention, or curl up and mope. Here he is moping. Sometimes Mommy breaks and leans over to pet him. Then Mocha is all happy wags. But when Daddy is busy, very little can break his attention (except for stealing an occasional photo, heh). All Mocha can do in those cases is mope mope mope.

Mommy’s beeper went off a few times, scaring the bejeezus out of poor lil Mocha. After hearing it beep, he ran off with his tail between his legs and hid under the couch. It took him a while to muster the courage to come back to the world of the uncouched again.

Whine whine whine. Woof woof woof woof woof woof. Bark woof woof. Bark bark bark? Bark?
Whine. Woof woof woof. Whine whine whine.

This is boring. I don’t want to just sit here and wait for Mommy to shop. I want to run around and play fetch. Can we play fetch Daddy? Pul-leeze?
Aww poop. I don’t like sitting and waiting. This is boring.

Bark bark bark! Woof woof woof. Woof woof woof. Woof woof woof. Yip yip yip!

Oh boy, I love going for rides in the car! Whenever I see Mommy or Daddy open the car door, I jump in happily. It’s always fun to ride in the car with them. Everywhere we go is such an adventure. Oh boy what fun!

Yesterday’s post made me a little sad. Mocha has been frustrating. He scares our friends and neighbors. His 2AM barks disrupt our sleep. Exercise doesn’t seem to be helping. It has definitely been frustrating.

But for all that we are frustrated with him, we are also very thankful for him. I’ve seen other dogs that are a handful and a half. Mocha has lots of great points. So here is a list of why we are thankful for Mocha:

I have a dog hammock for the back seat of my car. On long road trips, sometimes Mocha likes to rest his head on the edge to try to be as close as he can to Mommy and Daddy. It’s like he’s saying, “What are you guys doing? Can I see?” But then he closes his eyes and falls asleep in that position, just like you see here. Poor tired little guy.

Mocha knows something is up. We’re packing our things and only some of his things – like just enough to be left at, say, Melvin & Cabbie’s place. And no amount of consoling will make him feel better.

Mocha’s sleeping by the door, waiting for Mommy to come home.
