Woof woof woof. Woof woof woof. Whimper. Woof woof woof. Whimper. Woof woof woof.
Hooowl. Rowr. Siiigh.

Darn it, I’m not comfy in this bed. Maybe if I stretch this way. Hmm nope. Maybe this way. Almost. One more stretch.
Awww yeah. That’s it, that’s the spot. Nooow I’m comfy.

Mocha is so out of it right now.
He just came back from the vet. They gave his teeth a good cleaning. This was his annual dental cleaning. Doing this requires being sedated. Though he’s awake right now, the sedatives are still swirling around in his little body.
So Mocha is just kinda wandering around, looking at nothing in particular and going nowhere special. Every so often, he’ll lean up against our legs or the wall. Or he’ll wobble for a moment, then slide to the ground and just stare. It’s like he’s high or something. So naturally, I had to take a picture of our lil drowsy doggie. Hehe.

Today feels like a day to be lazy. Ahhh…

You know what’s great for traveling with a dog? A dog hammock car seat cover. It drapes over the rear seats, so your dog can sit back there without falling into the foot-space below the seats. These covers are also generally water-proof (for potentially wet accidents) and washable (for those same accidents).
They work better in sedans and SUVs though. I have a two-seater with small rear seats. The dog hammock seat cover just barely covers those rear seats. If Mocha’s not careful, he can still slide into the bottom foot-spaces. Or, if I’m not careful and stop short. Fortunately, whenever that happens, Mocha just gives me a goofy look, then returns to the seat. Good ole’ resilient boy.

Streaks of sun,
form black & white lines.
Is he in jail,
for chewing Mommy’s Kleins?
Or just resting up,
Recharging with the sun.
Being an energetic pup,
It can be tiring having fun!

Back home, we never let Mocha on the furniture. He abides by those rules faithfully.
When we’re out and about, we don’t let him on the furniture either. He abides similarly.
But this weekend, we decided to spoil him a bit. We let him climb onto the hotel bed. And joy of joys, he loved it. He nestled right between us and fell asleep straight away. It was like having a furry, stinky baby next to us.

Fortunately, he didn’t pick up this habit. Once back home, he didn’t even try to get on our bed.
Good boy! I hope you enjoyed this little splurge!

Speaking of being bored & mopey, Mocha is beginning to perfect his “Please won’t you play with me?” backwards stare. He’ll lie down spread eagle with balls in his paws, then look back at us with these big, sad doggie eyes. He’s a heartbreaker, this one.

Mocha sometimes sits at our feet while we work, waiting patiently for us to play with him. Did I say patiently? I meant impatiently.
He’ll paw at us, jump up and down to try to catch our attention, or curl up and mope. Here he is moping. Sometimes Mommy breaks and leans over to pet him. Then Mocha is all happy wags. But when Daddy is busy, very little can break his attention (except for stealing an occasional photo, heh). All Mocha can do in those cases is mope mope mope.

Mommy’s beeper went off a few times, scaring the bejeezus out of poor lil Mocha. After hearing it beep, he ran off with his tail between his legs and hid under the couch. It took him a while to muster the courage to come back to the world of the uncouched again.

Whine whine whine. Woof woof. Woof woof woof. Bark bark bark bark bark bark! Sigh!

Aw, c’mon Daddy. It’s late. I know you’re a night owl and all. But turn off the lights and go to sleep already! Sheesh!
