Random Dog Sitting with Me
A random dog jumped up on the bench next to me and stood there while Mia snapped this picture. Cute fellah isn’t he?

We found a nice, dog-friendly hotel in San Diego for our trip – Crown City Inn. It’s a quaint little place on Coronado Island, right off a main road. They give you a food & water bowl for your dog, a bag of doggie treats, and feature some nice patches of grass out in front for potty breaks.
What’s great about Coronado Island is that practically the entire island is dog friendly. We took Mocha for a walk down the street and came across a bunch of dog-friendly cafes. Even the dog beach isn’t too far from here.
And oh Mocha… will you ever stop hiding under furniture? You scaredy dog you.

Happy day at the dog beach on Coronado Island in San Diego! Mocha’s in the water!
Well, almost. Waves still freak him out a bit.
But with a bit of coaxing and encouragement, he’s wading in the water happily.
He’ll even run back and forth with us, like it’s a game. Hurray, our little fellah is starting to love the water!
The dog beach on Coronado Island is by far the best dog beach we’ve seen yet. Along with the usual dog waste bags is a fountain and hose for washing off your dog. That alone totally won us over.
Sounds totally obvious to me that a dog beach should have a place to wash your dog. Yet, other dog beaches I’ve seen don’t have one. Not that I’m being unappreciative, mind you. I’m really thankful the kind beach officials zoned a portion of the land for dogs. Having a way to hose down your dog is just such a great addition though.
Hmm. I wonder if a portable dog-washing truck or kit would be a good small business?

Woof woof woof. Woof woof woof. Woof woof woof. Woof woof… bark bark! Yip yip yip! Yip yip yip yip yip??
Bark bark bark! Bark yip yip! Yip yip yip!
Translated from Dog:
Something is up. I can smell it. Mommy and Daddy are both packing up. Putting clothes into bags. They are even… packing up my stuff too! Oh boy! Where are we going, where are we going??
Oh boy, we’re going in the car again! Another car ride! Woo hoo!
P.S. Looks like Mocha loves having his head out the window now. He didn’t so much on our first road trip. But after a few visits to the dog park in the car, he’s learned that he can cool off with his tongue flapping in the wind if he sticks his head out.

I love this photo. Mocha’s resting on the grass after a fun day of fetch at the dog park.

After a day at the dog park, Mocha curled up to take a nap with Cabbie. Awww.

Apparently Mocha loves him some pig ears. Guess we’ll have to buy some for Mocha when we get home.

While Mocha was sitting there, ready for another picture, Cabbie walks by with his happy tail. Watch out for that tail Mocha!

We left Mocha at Melvin & Cabbie’s house for the next few days while we headed out of town. My friend took this photo of Mocha sitting by his laptop, asking where we were. hehe.

We’re leaving Mocha at Melvin & Cabbie’s house for the next few days while we head out of town. He doesn’t seem to mind too much. He loves to wrestle with Melvin & Cabbie. Especially Cabbie (pictured here).
Though it was a bit sad to leave him. Mocha started whimpering as soon as we approached the door. We could hear him as we walked back to our car too. Hopefully he won’t be as sad once he starts playing with his friends.
Bye boy! We’ll be back to get you in a few days!
